ABOUT THE LITTLE LEARNING CENTER
The Little Learning Center is a play-based, bilingual childcare and early learning center in Norwalk, Connecticut, created by two experienced early childhood educators who share a simple belief: children deserve the time and space to play, explore, create, build confidence and simply enjoy being little.
Together, our founders bring more than two decades of combined experience in early childhood education and a shared passion for creating a warm, nurturing community where every child can feel known, loved and supported.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Two Teachers. One Shared Philosophy. A Bigger Dream.
The Little Learning Center began with two teachers who met while working together at a childcare center.
We quickly realized how naturally we worked alongside one another. We shared the same passion for early childhood education, the same respect for the way each of us taught and cared for children, and, most importantly, the same vision for what we believed childcare could be.
We wanted more time outside.
More opportunities to get messy.
More hands-on learning.
More creativity, curiosity, and exploration.
More opportunities for children to build confidence and independence.
And, most importantly, more freedom to simply be kids.
Together, we bring a wide range of experience in early childhood education, including Montessori and play-based programs, group childcare management, and center leadership. Our backgrounds include experience working in childcare programs across the United States and U.S. territories, allowing us to learn from different environments, communities, teaching styles, and approaches to early learning.
Through all of those experiences, one belief continued to guide us:
Childhood doesn’t need to be rushed.
Children deserve a safe, loving, and nurturing place where they feel known, valued, and supported. A place where learning happens naturally through real experiences, playing outside, getting messy, creating with their own hands, asking questions, solving problems, building friendships, and discovering what they are capable of.
We believe children learn best when they are given the time and space to follow their curiosity, develop meaningful relationships, build independence, and experience all of the wonderfully messy moments that come with growing up.
We dreamed of creating a program that felt warm and personal, a place where families could feel confident knowing their children were genuinely loved and cared for, and where children could learn, grow, explore, and enjoy being little.
In 2025, that dream became The Little Learning Center.
And as we continue to grow, the heart of our program will always remain the same: giving children the time, space, love, and freedom to simply enjoy childhood.
FROM A LITTLE PROGRAM TO SOMETHING BIGGER
Our Families Helped Us Grow.
Our journey officially began in 2025 as we worked toward opening our home-based childcare program in Stamford.
After becoming licensed in December, we welcomed our very first family in January 2026.
And then something exciting happened.
By the end of February, our program was completely full and our waitlist continued to grow.
As our families grew, their needs changed too. Part-time families needed full-time care. Families were expecting new babies. And we simply didn't have enough room to welcome everyone who wanted to become part of The Little Learning Center.
We knew it was time to grow.
After months of searching, we found our Norwalk location.
From the moment we walked through the doors, we fell in love with the possibilities.
With just under two acres and room to create the indoor and outdoor experiences we had always envisioned, we knew we had found the place where our little program could grow into the bigger dream we had imagined.
What started with two teachers who simply loved working together has grown into a community centered around giving children a safe, loving place to learn, explore, get messy, play outside, and enjoy being little.
